We're looking for 5 celebrants!

Our goal is to have five members by autumn who would like to become humanist celebrants.

Who is a humanist celebrant?

A person who can conduct ceremonies with added value. Whether it's a wedding, funeral, or naming ceremony, a humanist celebrant strives to make the entire ceremony unique and authentic for the people involved. They do not follow any sacred scriptures or unchangeable ceremonial rules.

What does it take to become a celebrant?

Becoming a celebrant only requires completing an official course with an organization that offers humanist ceremonies. For Czech humanists who are interested in such a course, a weekend workshop for five people would be arranged with help of our European partner organizations through the European Humanist Services Network (humanistweddings.eu), which will familiarize them with all the necessary knowledge for planning and conducting high-quality symbolic ceremonies.

For those interested

Are you a humanist and would you like to try conducting and preparing humanist ceremonies as a humanist celebrant? If you are not yet a member of Czech Humanists, submit membership application and write "celebrant" in the "What issues are you interested in" field. If you are already in the group, send an email to the chair, Jirka (jiri.muller@humanists.cz), expressing your interest. Similarly, send an email to Jirka if you have any questions about the celebrant course.
